Leonardo DiCaprio takes a stand against Artificial Intelligence: “It is not a form of art”

Anything considered truly art must come from a human, the actor stressed

Newsroom December 9 05:00

Leonardo DiCaprio has positioned himself against Artificial Intelligence, emphasising that it cannot be regarded as a form of art.

In an interview with Time magazine, the Oscar-winning actor shared his views on the contribution of AI, noting that although it may be a useful “tool,” it cannot be classified as art.

While expressing concern that talented and experienced people could lose their jobs because of Artificial Intelligence, DiCaprio acknowledged that AI might still offer some benefits to the entertainment industry.

“It can serve as an enhancement tool for a young director, helping them create something groundbreaking,” the actor said. However, he stressed that this technology will never be considered art, as it lacks the human element. He explained: “Anything considered authentically art must come from a human being.”
