Sarah Jessica Parker to receive another Golden Globe

Ceremony to take place in January 2026

Newsroom November 14 01:07

Sarah Jessica Parker will add another Golden Globe to her impressive collection, which already includes six awards. The star of Sex and the City and And Just Like That—who recently joined the judging panel for the 2025 Booker Prize—will be honored with the 2026 Carol Burnett Award at the next Golden Globe ceremony on January 11, 2026.

This award recognizes her outstanding contributions to the television industry, both in front of and behind the camera, according to the organizers. “Her career embodies the true spirit of the Carol Burnett Award,” said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes. “Her profound impact on television, and her dedication to storytelling on both stage and screen, has left an incredible mark on pop culture. We are honored to celebrate her exceptional contributions to entertainment.”

From Screen Icon to Booker Prize Judge

But how did the beloved actress become a member of this year’s Booker Prize jury? Three years ago, Parker made a playful plea on the Booker Prize Instagram account: “Please, let me try!” And just like that, she was given the opportunity this year to serve as one of five jury members.

However, as the saying goes, be careful what you wish for. In a recent interview with the New York Times, Parker revealed the challenge she faced: reading over 150 books in about eight months, at times having to step back from family activities to keep up. Still, she values the experience, saying it helped her develop critical thinking about fiction and gave her the confidence to defend her favorite novels with solid arguments. “It was a life-changing experience,” she said.
