Philip Morris International strengthens its corporate structure-Expanded role for Christos Harpantidis

Building on the successful transformation of the past decade, Philip Morris International (PMI) introduces a new corporate structure that aims to further enhance its global operations and strengthen its growth model

Christos Harpantidis is appointed Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. He will report directly to the Group CEO of PMI, with expanded responsibilities covering corporate affairs, communications, science and international activities. Mr. Harpantidis comes from Papastratos, PMI’s affiliate in Greece, which stands as a benchmark for innovation, corporate transformation, and social responsibility.

Statement by Christos Harpantidis:

“At such a pivotal moment for PMI, the evolution of our organizational model fills us all with a sense of responsibility, optimism and determination. The global challenges we face today are many, comparable to, and even greater than, those we encountered in 2014 when we began our radical transformation. Together with the PMI Corporate Affairs team, we continue to foster an open dialogue and collaborate with governments, scientific communities and International Organizations, with transparency and accountability.”

Christos Harpantidis was appointed Senior Vice President of Philip Morris International in May 2024, leading the company’s global external engagement efforts. He has previously served as CEO of Papastratos, where he began his career in 2003. He holds a degree in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a postgraduate degree in Economics, and an MBA from Kent University.
