19-year-old confessed to arson in Sychaina, Patras – Three arrests and one prosecution for the fires in Achaia

Three arrests have been made in total, according to the latest information, for arson fires in Achaia in the last 24 hours

Among those arrested is a 19-year-old who reportedly confessed to setting the fire that broke out on Wednesday in the Sychaina area of Patras.

According to the same information, a 27-year-old man has also been arrested for the same fire, who, for now, does not admit his involvement in the case.

It will be recalled that yesterday, Wednesday, a 25-year-old man was also arrested for the fire in the Geriakoumeio area of Patras.

At the same time, police officers have also proceeded with the arrest of a person who was moving with 4 lighters in the Aroi area on Wednesday night.

It’s worth noting that on Wednesday, a 25-year-old was also arrested in connection with the fire in the Gerokomeio area of Patras. Photos that led the police to his arrest, released by OPEN, show the young man initially bending down in a field. Shortly after he leaves, smoke appears in the same spot, with the fire spreading due to the strong winds in the area.

At the same time, police also detained an individual who was seen carrying four lighters in the Aroi area on Wednesday night.

The Patras Division for Crime Investigation conducted an official investigation to identify and arrest anyone involved in the fire that broke out on the night of August 12, 2025, in the Sychaina area of Achaia.

Through intelligence gathering, additional investigative actions, and review of video footage, the involvement of two individuals, aged 27 and 19, was confirmed.

During further investigation, a bottle containing what is believed to be flammable material was discovered. It was determined that one of the suspects had discarded the bottle in a forested area.
