Minos Matsas on protothema.gr: “Divorces don’t require announcements—even if you’re a minister”

"I’d write music for Lex, but I’d say 'no thanks' to Snik," he tells Proti Lexi (First Word) and Antonis Schroiter — adding, "Stelios Kazantzidis is the greatest voice our country has ever produced"

Newsroom July 15 04:59

As Minos Matsas’s clash with his ex-wife, Olga Kefalogianni, continues in the courtrooms, the composer, talking to protothema’s First Word, gr and Antonis Schroiter, says he is determined to close this matter and move on with his life.

He says that he does not want any litigation and would even now like an out-of-court settlement. He even talks about trap music, the rappers he singles out, and says Stelios Kazantzidis is the greatest voice our country has ever produced.

“Separation is a very personal issue. You don’t announce it with announcements, even if you’re a minister. I was surprised,” says Minos Matsas, referring to the announcement of a pre-announcement of divorce issued by Olga Kefalogianni.

“I don’t like it when someone wanders around the channels and talks about his personal life,” he adds meaningfully. Although she studied law, the first time she was in court was in this dispute. “I tried to avoid reaching the courts. There are no material disputes,” he says.

He describes how he experienced the media hunt for his separation, and stresses that the separation is a personal matter that should not be a matter of public concern. He talks about his children and his great love, music.

Minos Matsas, although a lover of rebetiko music, also listens to… trap music. He singles out LEX, about which he says he would happily write music. To Snik, on the other hand, he would say… “No thanks”. He even talks about the experimental concert he presented, mixing different kinds of music from different parts of the world. The concert was a great success and returns to the Herodesion in September.
