The Times: Israeli agents had been operating inside Iran since 2010, gathering intelligence on its nuclear weapons program

Israeli reconnaissance teams had infiltrated sites such as the facilities in Isfahan and Natanz - They had found that the Iranians were "a few weeks" from setting up an "explosive device"

Newsroom June 28 06:10

For years Israel had deployed agents on Iranian soil to monitor and collect information about Tehran’s nuclear program and ballistic weapons, according to a revealing report in the Times of London, which cited an intelligence source and classified documents shared with Western countries.

The report said Israeli agents had infiltrated key sites and facilities of the Iranian nuclear program since 2010. The findings show that by the end of 2024, Iran had moved beyond the nuclear weapons research stage and was conducting experiments to build an explosive device within “a matter of weeks,” according to the leaked documents.

Particular importance is attached to the action of Israeli agents who mapped the layout of the Natanz facilities before they were attacked and destroyed. At the same time, reconnaissance teams had also infiltrated other sites of high strategic importance, such as the facilities at Isfahan, Noor, Mogdeh, Sarriati and Shahid Meysami.

The same source said the intelligence documents also documented Israel’s success in infiltrating even the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), which were also targeted by airstrikes.

These revelations, if confirmed, reinforce assessments that recent Israeli raids against Iranian strategic facilities were based on years of extensive groundwork, with agents directly present at key points to gather intelligence and plan high-precision strikes.
