3rd Paralympic Panorama in the heart of Athens

A celebration of strength, cooperation, and inclusion by HELLENiQ ENERGY

Newsroom April 30 05:20

In a changing world, inclusion and acceptance of diversity are not just desirable but essential for progress. HELLENiQ ENERGY supports initiatives that unite people through sport, building bridges of understanding and promoting everyone’s right to participation, expression, and equal access.

In this context, HELLENiQ ENERGY proudly participated as a Gold Sponsor in the “3rd Paralympic Panorama,” held on Sunday, April 13th, at Monastiraki Square. An athletic celebration that vividly and passionately highlights the values of fair play and noble competition, bringing the public closer to athletes with disabilities and Paralympic sports.

In collaboration with the Hellenic Paralympic Committee and with the support of the Municipality of Athens and OPANDA, a court was created in the heart of the city where the public had the opportunity to watch seven Paralympic sports — Boccia, Blind Soccer, Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Fencing, Table Tennis, Sitting Volleyball, and Goalball — and to meet distinguished athletes with disabilities and top Greek Paralympians such as Athanasios Gavellas, Tania Keramydas, Stelios Malakopoulos, and Grigoris Polychronidis. These athletes serve as role models, inspiring with their dedication and passion, demonstrating that dreams have no limits.

With a common goal of a more inclusive sports culture
Monastiraki Square resonated with the pulse of Paralympic sports, as children and adults watched the demonstrations with admiration. The interest was evident, not only for the spectacle but also for the athletes themselves and the values they embody. Each sport showcased a different aspect of effort, discipline, and teamwork. The athletes, with full concentration, carefully demonstrated their techniques, clearly showing their love for sports. It was an event that relied not only on visual impact but also on the connection created between the audience and the participants — an experience that left a meaningful impression and many moments of emotion.

Enduring support for the Paralympic Movement
The Paralympic Panorama has already become a tradition with successful events that started last year. The first in the series, also hosted at Monastiraki Square, around the same time last year, laid the foundations for this emblematic initiative, strengthening acceptance of diversity through sports. In December, as part of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, HELLENiQ ENERGY and the Paralympic Committee organized a similar event at the “Ioannis Vellidis” Conference Center in Thessaloniki, where over 400 students had the opportunity to learn about Paralympic sports and the values of teamwork and equality through firsthand experience.

HELLENiQ ENERGY, steadfastly supporting the Hellenic Paralympic Committee
Since 2018, HELLENiQ ENERGY has been a steady supporter of the Hellenic Paralympic Committee and has been a Major Sponsor since 2021. Last year, it was upgraded to Gold Sponsor for the next four years, reaffirming its active commitment to strengthening the Paralympic movement in Greece and fostering a society without exclusions.

With the continuous support of HELLENiQ ENERGY, the Paralympic Panoramas have established themselves as a unique sporting event that unites, inspires, and changes mindsets — demonstrating that sport is the most powerful tool for promoting equality and inclusion. This initiative is not just an event; it’s a powerful reminder that within each person’s diversity and uniqueness lies their true strength.
