HELLENiQ ENERGY: Award for Contribution to Forest Regeneration

The company received an honorary distinction from the Ministry of Environment and Energy for its contribution to the restoration and reforestation of burnt forest areas in Attica and Corinthia

Newsroom April 2 06:45

The fires that affect Greek forests every summer threaten the ecological balance and the safety of local communities. Nature has the power to regenerate, but it needs our help. In this great challenge, HELLENiQ ENERGY has taken an important role. With meaningful initiatives and targeted actions, the company is proving that corporate responsibility is a path that leads to meaningful results.
This effort was recognized on March 21, when the Ministry of Environment and Energy awarded an honorary distinction to the CEO of HELLENiQ ENERGY, Mr. Andreas Siasmisi, for the company’s contribution to the restoration and reforestation of burnt forest areas in Attica and Corinthia.

As Mr: “The obligation of all of us is to help prevent and respond to disastrous natural phenomena that affect our country. But we also need our assistance in managing and, where possible, restoring the natural environment when natural disasters occur. As a Company we are always at the forefront to offer our assistance to the authorities and our fellow citizens. In close cooperation with the Ministry, the Departments and relevant agencies, we have implemented a series of anti-erosion projects in recent years to restore more than 6 million acres of burnt forest areas, with speed to reduce secondary impacts and help the natural regeneration of the ecosystem. At the same time, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Energy, we will continue reforestation projects in the area of Palea Penteli. It is a contribution to society, in the context of the corporate responsibility that has always characterized HELLENiQ ENERGY.”
