The Alternative for Sweden party announced the death of the businessman

Swedish entrepreneur Karl Lundström, co-founder of the Pirate Bay, was killed in a a crash with his aircraft in Slovenia, according to the right-wing party he was affiliated with.

Slovenian police confirmed to Agence France-Presse that they had recovered a body from the crash site, “possibly the Swedish pilot”, but would not disclose his identity pending a forensic examination.

The small aircraft crashed on Monday at a wooden shelter in the mountainous region of Velika Planina (north). Due to bad weather conditions, rescuers could not reach the area until the next day.

The Alternative for Sweden (AfS) party announced the death of the 64-year-old businessman, hailing “a legend and a veteran of Swedish nationalism.”

Carl Lundström had departed in his Mooney M20 aircraft from Zagreb and was heading to Zurich.

Carl Lundstram was the party’s candidate in the 2021 election of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sweden.

Grandson of the founder of the Wasabröd bakery, he was sentenced by an appeals court in 2010 to four months in prison and a heavy fine for his involvement as a financier in the Pirate Bay, along with other founders.
