Iran: Two judges murdered outside the Supreme Court – The perpetrator committed suicide

Preliminary evidence suggests that the man who opened fire did not have any outstanding cases with the Supreme Court or any of its divisions

Two judges were shot dead by a man outside the Supreme Court of Iran on Saturday morning.

The attack took place in Arak Square while Hojjat-ul-Islam Wal-Muslimin Razini, the head of the 39th division of the Supreme Court, and Hojjat-ul-Islam Wal-Muslimin Muqiseh, the head of the 53rd division, were killed.

According to Iranian media, another judge and one of the security officials were wounded by the gunfire.

The Iranian authorities’ statement on the execution of the two judges noted that “they had a long history of opposing crimes against national security, espionage and terrorism.”

Early indications are that the man who opened fire did not have any outstanding cases with the Supreme Court or any of its divisions.

Immediately after the attack, the gunman killed himself before being captured by Iranian authorities.
