A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the explosion that devastated an apartment in Ampelokipoi, causing the death of one man and seriously injuring a woman. The arrest took place on Monday, with the Greek Police (ELAS) making further progress in the investigation.

According to police sources, the man, known to the authorities, was arrested after a fingerprint of his was reportedly found on a bag containing weapons at an apartment in Exarchia.

It is recalled that, so far, the Counter-Terrorism Unit has made three arrests in the case: a man who was reportedly near the apartment at the time of the explosion, a woman who collected the keys to the apartment, and the woman who was injured and is currently hospitalized.

The woman who collected the keys was abroad but was arrested immediately upon her return after an arrest warrant was issued against her. The man voluntarily presented himself to the authorities on the night of November 1 and was arrested. Both are expected to appear before the prosecutor tomorrow.
