Kasselakis: I call for an end to the games now

Stefanos Kasselakis denounced that hundreds of members have registered through iSYRIZA and are not in the electoral lists - "Do not retreat anyone! Do not withdraw anyone!

Newsroom November 3 02:38

Stefanos Kasselakis has raised new concerns over alleged irregularities in the SYRIZA delegate election process.

In a public statement, Kasselakis claimed that his offices received “hundreds of calls from across Greece” from members who registered through isyriza.gr, showed up to vote, but found their names missing from the electoral rolls. He pointed out that it is “the duty of each election office to verify these members by contacting headquarters,” yet no one was responding to calls.

“I call for an immediate end to these games. Democracy is not something to be toyed with,” Kasselakis emphasized.

He further alleged that certain ballots are missing lists of endorsed congress candidates, that elected election committees are being replaced with more “convenient” alternatives, and that “truncated” membership lists are currently in use.

“Don’t back down! Let no one withdraw!” was his rallying message to supporters, urging them to stand firm and seek help from those “defending democracy” at the polling stations.

Find the people who are currently defending democracy on the ground at the polling stations to help you,” is his message to his supporters.

In detail, Stefanos Kasselakis says in his post:

We are receiving hundreds of calls from across Greece from members who registered through isyriza.gr, and are coming to vote, yet are not on the electoral rolls. Each election official has to verify these members by contacting headquarters, but NO ONE IS ANSWERING!

I demand that these games end now. Democracy is not a game.

Meanwhile, we are facing:

  • Ballots missing our endorsed delegate candidates,
  • Elected election committees are being replaced by more “convenient” ones, and
  • “Truncated” membership lists for the second day running.

Stand firm!
Do not withdraw!
