Marinella Hospitalized in ICU with Brain Hemorrhage – Her Condition is Critical

Greece’s beloved singer collapsed on stage at the Herodion Theatre, sparking moments of intense concern. She regained consciousness backstage before being rushed to Hygeia Hospital

Newsroom September 26 07:33

Marinella, the legendary Greek singer, is currently hospitalized in critical condition at Hygeia Hospital due to a brain hemorrhage. The 86-year-old performer collapsed on stage shortly after her concert began at the Herodion Theatre on Wednesday night. She was immediately taken for an MRI scan, which revealed the hemorrhage. According to reports, she had been experiencing a severe headache before the performance.

Sources from protothema.gr report that Marinella regained consciousness backstage, where her doctor, who was present from the first moment, administered first aid. She was able to communicate with those around her but remained in the dressing room for about an hour before an ambulance arrived at 10:20 PM.

Official Medical Report:

“Mrs. Kyriaki Papadopoulou (Marinella) was urgently admitted to Hygeia Hospital at 10:30 PM following a fainting episode. It was determined that she had suffered a severe vascular stroke (hemorrhage) and was transferred to the ICU, where she remains under care.

The Incident:

The collapse occurred during Marinella’s third song of the night, the famous “Ta Logia Einai Peritta” (“Words are Unnecessary”), one of her greatest hits. As she sang the line, “God, you taught us how much we should love,” the beloved singer lost consciousness and collapsed. Her musicians rushed to assist her immediately.

The audience was left in shock, remaining seated until the production team announced the concert’s cancellation. Spectators began to leave the venue, discussing the distressing event and the singer’s sudden health crisis.

An eyewitness from the second row mentioned that Marinella appeared unsteady from the start and was unusually focused on the monitor during the performance, rather than engaging with the audience. This raised concern, especially since she has sung “Ta Logia Einai Peritta” (“Words Are Unnecessary”) endless times during her career.

The legendary performer’s condition remains critical, and her fans and loved ones wait anxiously for updates on her health.
