Hezbollah leader: The attacks in Lebanon are a declaration of war by Israel

Hassan Nasrallah directly accuses Israel for the barrage of attacks that left 20 dead and 450 injured within two days

Newsroom September 19 05:42

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah directly accused Israel of the barrage of attacks in Lebanon over the past 48 hours, which resulted in the deaths of 20 people and the injury of 450.

In his address, the organization’s leader described the explosions targeting bomb detectors and radios as “war crimes” and the deaths as a massacre.

Nasrallah accused Israel of attacks aimed at 4,000 booby-trapped pagers and walkie-talkies, claiming that the strikes disregarded innocent civilians, including children.

He noted that some of the lives lost have not yet been included in the official casualty figures, stressing that Israeli forces intended to cause mass killings.

“Israel tried to kill 4,000 people at once,” Nasrallah said, referring to the attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday. “This is pure terrorism. We will call them the ‘Tuesday Massacre’ and ‘Wednesday Massacre.’ These are war crimes or at least a declaration of war,” he stated.

Nasrallah added that divine intervention prevented more deaths and injuries, noting that some of the pagers were non-functional or turned off, while others remained in storage.

In his speech, the Hezbollah leader accused Israel of attempting to kill 5,000 people in just two minutes during the last two days. Nasrallah described the explosions as unprecedented, not only in Lebanon’s history but globally.

“There is no doubt that we’ve been penetrated,” Nasrallah emphasized, referring to security breaches within Hezbollah’s communication network. Despite the gravity of the accusations, Israel has not made any immediate comment on the attacks.

The Hezbollah leader continued to denounce the attacks as “war crimes,” claiming that Israel is attempting to wipe out human lives on a large scale, without regard for innocent souls, including children.
