Union of Greek Shipowners awarded 110+1 scholarships worth €1.500.000

The Hellenic Shipowners' Association has always placed the education sector at the center of its social work actively supporting the country's young generation

Newsroom July 19 04:21

The postgraduate scholarships of the Union of Greek Shipowners for the academic year 2024-2025 were awarded with great success on Wednesday 17 July 2024, at the archaeological site of Olympieion. The event was welcomed by the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni.

The Hellenic Shipowners’ Association has always placed the education sector and the granting of scholarships at the center of its social work, actively supporting the country’s young generation. Following its commitment “Society and Shipping Always Together”, the Hellenic Shipowners’ Union last year established the particularly expanded program “SYN-ENOSIS FOR EDUCATION +100 SCHOLARSHIPS”, as well as the scholarship with the symbolic name “Excellence”, for the excellence of excellence. The scholarships are for studies in Greece and abroad, in postgraduate programs of pre-doctoral level, full one-year or two-year study.

This year’s program was numerically strengthened and amounts to 110 plus the “Excellence” scholarship, with a total amount of over €1,500,000!

Specifically, scholarships were granted to 46 young women and 65 young excellence students, from 20 regions of our country, to pursue their postgraduate studies in 10 scientific fields, in 14 countries, in 52 universities in Greece and abroad!

The ultimate protagonists of the event were the scholarship holders, who were addressed by the President of the Greek Shipowners’ Association, Melina Traylou, introduced themselves and spoke about their dreams and the value of their scholarship and excellence, sending their own resounding message to the new generation, in a particularly moving atmosphere, in the emblematic space dominated by the Pillars of Olympian Zeus.
