Venues continue to be looked into for Rama’s visit to Athens

Edi Rama is expected to visit Athens this Sunday - The context behind the venues

Newsroom May 9 04:01

Edi Rama’s venue remains undetermined and The Peace and Friendship Stadium does not seem to be progressing much. The issue of the venue began with the Christmas Theater in Galatsi, which was blocked with the mayor’s recommendations to the businessman managing it. Up until this morning, the Albanian side had not officially sent any request to the management of the Peace and Friendship Stadium for the Board of Directors to convene and approve the request. Nor had they requested a proce quote.

The only contact that was initiated was for the Melina Mercouri Hall, which has a capacity of fewer than 1000 people. However, want is wanted is a large space that can accommodate 4,000 to 5,000 people.

They verbally asked for the arena where Olympiacos plays, but they did not formally express the request this in writing. The management of the Peace and Friendship Stadium was in open communication with Giannis Voutsis and George Gerapetritis, who had emphasised the need for everything to be documented in writing, with strong clauses.
