An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale occurred on Monday morning in the maritime area of ​​Messinia.

The epicentre of the earthquake was located 50 kilometres south of Methoni, Pylos, while the focal depth was measured at 23.5 kilometres.

The tremor was felt throughout the area.

An aftershock of 3.3 Richter occurred later at noon on Monday, after 4.3 Richter in the morning in the same area.

The earthquake occurred 41 kilometers south of Methoni.
