Musk is no.2

Newsroom December 22 11:18

A million seconds are close to 12 days, and a billion seconds amount to almost 32 years. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the current richest man in the world, Luxury magnate Bernard Arnault of France, whose conglomerate LVMH encompasses brands like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Moët and Hennessy, could start spending a dollar each second (without accumulating further wealth and the dollar not inflating or deflating) and his current riches would still last him more than 5,000 years.

The wealth of Tesla founder Elon Musk meanwhile slipped below that of Arnault at currently $148 billion. Like him, many of the richest people on this globe have made their fortunes with businesses run out of the United States. Besides Arnault, the exception to this are two Indian nationals: Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, founder of port operator Adani Group and currently the world’s third-richest person as much of the U.S. tech billionaire elite has struggled with huge stock market losses in 2022.

The company Ambani inherited started out in synthetic textiles but moved on to become a conglomerate spanning petrochemicals, retail, and telecommunications. He made headlines in October of last year when briefly entering the exclusive club of those having $100 billion dollars or more to their name – the 11th individual to do so. Ambani’s net worth is currently below that line, while Adani joined the club for the first time in April after his wealth grew impressively over a short period of time.

The emerging party of Karystianou is particularly appealing to those coming from Niki, as well as to Sarakis, who was elected with Velopoulos. Some overtures are also being made by Tzakri. Admiral Apostolakis is undecided, while Athena Linou and Giannis Sarakiotis appear closer to Tsipras
