New provocation by Erdogan: Mitsotakis does not exist for me, says Turkish President (map)

Speaking immediately after the cabinet meeting, the Turkish President made it clear that he does not intend to meet with the Greek Prime Minister again

Newsroom May 23 08:59

The Turkish President made harsh statements after the cabinet meeting, which make the Greek-Turkish relations even more difficult.

“For me, Mitsotakis does not exists”, said Recep Tayyip Erdogan, clarifying that he has no plans to meet with the Greek Prime Minister again.

#BREAKING Turkish president says Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis does not exist for him after his criticism against Turkiye during visit to US

— ANADOLU AGENCY (@anadoluagency) May 23, 2022

The Turkish President essentially “demonized” the Prime Minister of Greece.

It is clear that Erdogan’s anger has been aroused not only by Mitsotakis’ recent successful visit to the United States, his meeting with US President Joe Biden and his historic speech to Congress, but also -mainly- by the “Blue Homeland” (Mavi Vatan) map Kyriakos Mitsotakis showed to the US President.

“Look at the picture to understand why we are talking about the revisionism, the questioning of sovereignty and the active threat, which is taking shape with the daily violations of Greek airspace by Turkish planes flying dangerously over inhabited Greek islands”, was the outline of what the Greek Prime Minister said to the US President, while the two of them were in the Oval Office of the White House.
