Charles Barkley: Giannis was the best player last year

The Greek Freak is the favourite to be the season's MVP

Newsroom June 24 11:52

Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden and Paul George were announced as MVP finalists in May. So who has the edge among the trio of superstars?
For the panel of TNT Sports, it was all about the Greek Freak, as both Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neil picked the Greek Freak as MVP.
“I would go with Giannis. Listen, James had a great year, so did Paul George. But Giannis has been the best player in basketball all year in my opinion”, said Charles.
O’Neil also chose Giannis who said the way he was focused and led his team was a key to pick his MVP.
Antetokounmpo and George bolstered their positions as two of the best all-around players in the league and are both finalists for defensive player of the year as well. Harden was again a scoring machine who won another scoring title to put himself in position to win a second consecutive MVP.
