Newsroom December 20 01:10

According to official state data, the national identity of migrants entering Greece with the refugees and migrants from the war torn countries in the Middle East, includes such places as far away as central America. Greek authorities registered migrants from Venezuela, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Chile landing on the island of Lesvos on Sunday and Monday! 145 were from Africa, a fact that has caused alarm to the Greek police, who believe that Turkish human traffickers have activated a African ring transporting migrants into Europe via the Greek islands. Out of the total of the registered 145, 38 came from Kongo, 34 from Algeria, 20 from Eritrea, 11 from Sierra Leon, 10 from Ethiopia, 8 from Zimbabwe, 5 from Tunisia, 4 from the Ivory Coast, and 3 from Ghana, Morocco and Niger. Meanwhile, 80 more new arrivals were recorded on Lesvos on Tuesday. According to the North Aegean General Police headquarters, 11,125 refugees and migrants have applied for asylum status in the islands of Lesvos, Chios and Samos.
