Police arrest Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in the shadow of the Epstein scandal

Eight plainclothes police officers were seen arriving at Wood Farm in Sandringham

Newsroom February 19 12:12

The Daily Telegraph reported today that British police went to the residence of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in eastern England.

The same source said that patrol cars with conventional number plates and about eight plainclothes officers were seen arriving at Wood Farm in Sandringham earlier today.

Thames Valley Police had said earlier in February that it was investigating allegations that Mountbatten-Windsor allegedly passed confidential government documents to Geoffrey Epstein, based on newly released records.

Read below the official police statement regarding the arrest:

“As part of the investigation, we arrested today (19/2) a man in his 60s from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Searches are being carried out at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk.

The man remains in custody.

We will not be naming the person arrested, in line with national guidelines. We would also remind the public that this is now an active investigation, and care should be taken in any reporting to avoid prejudicing the proceedings.”

A police spokesperson added:
“Following a thorough assessment, we have opened an investigation into the allegation of misconduct in public office. It is important that we safeguard the integrity and objectivity of our investigation as we work with our partners to examine the alleged offence. We recognize the significant public interest in this matter and will provide updates at the appropriate time.”
