ICE’s operation in Minnesota is terminated

President Trump approved the request of the "Border Czar"

“Border Czar” Tom Homan stated that the immigration operation in Minnesota will be brought to an end after President Donald Trump approved his request to terminate the mission.

“I will remain in Minnesota a while longer to oversee the withdrawal and ensure that it is carried out successfully,” he said during a press conference on Thursday.

He added, however, that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has always maintained a presence in Minnesota and will continue to do so.

According to Homan, Minnesota can no longer be considered a sanctuary jurisdiction, as local authorities are now cooperating more closely with federal immigration officials.

The recent surge in immigration personnel — which added roughly 2,000 officers to the existing force — sparked protests across the United States following the January killing of two American citizens by federal agents.

Tom Homan: “I have proposed, and President Trump has concurred, that this surge operation conclude…We will continue to enforce Title A immigration law throughout this nation…Those who say we are backing down from immigration enforcement or the promise of mass deportations, you… pic.twitter.com/cY827bSEuU
