The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) has issued an emergency weather bulletin from tonight until Thursday afternoon, warning of heavy rain, storms, hail, and winds reaching up to 9 Beaufort.
According to HNMS, the bad weather will begin in the northwest and, by Thursday, will affect the rest of western Greece, the northeastern mainland, and the eastern island regions.
HNMS Emergency Weather Bulletin
A temporary deterioration of weather conditions is expected, with heavy rain, storms, and possibly localized hail, starting tonight (Wednesday, 04-02-26) in the northwestern part of the country, and tomorrow, Thursday (05-02-26), in the remaining areas of western Greece, the northeastern mainland, and the eastern island regions.
Very strong south to southeast winds, reaching 8 and locally 9 Beaufort, will blow today, Wednesday, until the evening in the Ionian Sea, and tomorrow, Thursday, from morning to afternoon in the Eastern Aegean.
More specifically, locally heavy rain and storms are expected:
a. In the northern Ionian region (Corfu, Diapontia Islands, Paxos) and Epirus from Wednesday evening until Thursday morning.
b. In the rest of the Ionian islands (Lefkada, Ithaca, Kefalonia, Zakynthos) and western mainland Greece from early Thursday morning until afternoon.
c. In western and southern Peloponnese from early Thursday morning until late evening.
d. In eastern Macedonia and Thrace from Thursday morning until night.
e. In the northern and eastern Aegean islands from Thursday noon until early Friday morning (06-02-26).
f. In the Dodecanese from Thursday afternoon until Friday morning (06-02-26).
