Municipality of Trikkaion for the fire in Violanda: We are fully cooperating with the authorities by providing every element

The municipality of Trikkaion considers it self-evident that the full clarification of the case is a priority for the state and the competent authorities however will not make any further statements on the matter

The preliminary investigation by the competent authorities into the tragic accident that occurred at the “VIOLANTA” biscuit factory is underway. This is according to an announcement of the municipality of Trikkaion, in response to publications and questions raised recently by the media regarding the case under investigation.

According to the announcement, “a preliminary investigation is underway by the competent authorities, in the context of which all parameters related to the operation of the company and the legality of the facilities are being examined.” For this reason, it is clarified that any public statement or comment on individual issues could affect or hinder the smooth progress of the investigation. It is also stressed that the municipality, fully respecting the work of the authorities in charge of the investigation, is fully cooperating with them, providing any information and documents requested, within the framework of the legal procedures.

Finally, the Municipality of Trikkaion considers it self-evident that the full clarification of the case is a priority for the state and the competent authorities and awaits the official findings, which will be evaluated institutionally and responsibly. Until then, the statement concludes, the municipality will not make any further statements on the matter, showing due respect both to the memory of the victims and their families, and to the procedures provided by law.
