Newsroom January 21 06:55

Turkish competition authorities carried out a raid at the offices of the Chinese e-commerce platform Temu in Turkey in the early hours of Wednesday, a company spokesperson told Reuters.

According to the Temu spokesperson, during the operation the competent authorities seized laptops and other electronic devices from the company’s offices. The spokesperson said the platform intends to fully cooperate with the Turkish authorities in the context of the investigation.

“We will fully cooperate with the Turkish authorities,” the spokesperson said, without providing further details on the subject of the probe.

Turkey’s competition authority did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the matter.

The development comes just months after European regulators conducted a raid at Temu’s European headquarters in Dublin, as part of European Union investigations into potential unfair state subsidies from China.
