Athens without Taxis again today, Thursday

The taxi drivers’ strike has been extended, and a protest gathering will also take place at 10 a.m.

Newsroom December 4 08:39

From 6 a.m., the taxi sector in Attica is holding another 24-hour strike, extending the 48-hour strike already underway. In addition, today, December 4, taxi drivers will stage a demonstration with their vehicles on Athens Avenue, demanding that their demands be met.

It is reminded that yesterday a gathering was held outside the Ministry of Transport, where taxi drivers protested the problems they face, with minor scuffles occurring.

In its announcement regarding the extension of the strike, the Attica Taxi Drivers’ Union (S.A.T.A.) states, among other things:
“Following the decision of the Board meeting on November 26, 2025, for a warning 48-hour strike of Attica taxis, we are extending the strike for an additional 24 hours, until 6 a.m. on Friday. We call on all our members tomorrow, Thursday, December 4, 2025, to gather with our vehicles, which will line up on Athens Avenue at the intersection with Antigoni Street (facing Kifissou Avenue) at 10 a.m.

All citizens must understand that we are trying to protect the public character of the taxi service for the benefit of society as a whole. We apologize for the inconvenience that the passengers of Attica will suffer. Strictly and only for emergency health incidents, citizens may contact the Radio Taxi cooperatives of our city, which will have safety vehicles available.”
