Tsitsipas’ father claimed he was the one driving the Lotus at 213 km/h – Traffic Police unmoved

The deadline for an appeal has passed, and the Traffic Police commander replied that Stefanos Tsitsipas himself must appear and surrender his licence for one year

Newsroom November 29 07:03

Tsitsipas’ father, Apostolos, has taken responsibility for the tennis star’s luxury car, which was caught by the Attiki Odos cameras speeding at 210 km/h at the end of September.

A 49-year-old man was arrested at the toll booths of Agia Triada with explosives and drugs

According to the show “Weekend Live,” Apostolos Tsitsipas appeared on November 26 at the Attica Traffic Police with proof that the €2,000 fine had been paid. He stated that he was the one driving his son’s car at excessive speed and expressed his intention to surrender his own licence.

It is worth noting that Stefanos Tsitsipas’ mother publicly commented on the issue that arose after the Traffic Police recorded a car belonging to the tennis player travelling at more than 200 km/h on Attiki Odos. Julia Salnikova explained that her son is currently on holiday in Africa and has not even been informed about the commotion caused by the incident.

According to police authorities, the right to appeal the fine is valid for seven days. Therefore, the Traffic Police commander informed Apostolos Tsitsipas that since the seven days had passed, Stefanos Tsitsipas himself must appear and surrender his licence for one year — something that has not yet happened.
