Free admission to museums and archaeological sites on Sunday, November 2

On Sunday, November 2, 2025, entry to all archaeological sites, museums, and monuments managed by the Greek state will be free for everyone

Newsroom October 30 01:49

Admission to public archaeological sites and museums under the Ministry of Culture is free — that is, without a ticket — on the first Sunday of each month from November 1 to March 31 each year. This means that from November onward, the popular free Sunday visits to museums and archaeological sites return for the winter season.

Therefore, Sunday, November 2, marks the first free Sunday of the new season.

Additional free admission days

Entry to state-run archaeological sites, monuments, and museums managed by the Ministry of Culture is also free for all visitors on the following dates:

  • The first and third Sunday of each month, from November 1 to March 31
  • October 28 (National Holiday)
  • April 18 (International Day for Monuments and Sites)
  • May 18 (International Museum Day)
  • The last weekend of September (European Heritage Days)
  • March 6 (Melina Mercouri Memorial Day)

Acropolis Museum

The Acropolis Museum is not included in the above state provision for free admission.
