Newsroom September 26 01:13

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s speech today at the UN General Assembly in New York will be broadcast over loudspeakers in the Gaza Strip, according to media reports.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported in an article citing Israeli army sources that preparations are being made to broadcast Netanyahu’s speech (scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday) from loudspeakers mounted on trucks located near the fence on the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip.

“The Southern Command of the Israel Defense Forces has been ordered to engage in what senior officers call ‘psychological warfare’ by broadcasting Netanyahu’s speech from loudspeakers to be placed on trucks,” Haaretz explains in its article.

“No one understands what the military benefit is, commented a senior officer who spoke to the newspaper, while relatives of Israeli hostages still being held in Gaza also criticized the decision.
