In a state of emergency the affected areas from the fires in Ierapetra

The Municipality of Ierapetra filed a request for the declaration of the affected areas in a state of emergency earlier, which was approved by the Secretary General of Civil Protection Nikos Papayevstathiou

A state of emergency has been declared – by decision of the Civil Protection – in the areas affected by yesterday’s fires in Ierapetra.

Specifically, the Municipality of Ierapetra filed a request to declare the affected areas in a state of emergency earlier, which was approved by the General Secretary of Civil Protection, Nikos Papaevstathiou, who decided:

“The declaration of a state of emergency of Civil Protection:

– of the Municipal Unit of Makri Gialos

– of the Municipal Communities of Ierapetra and Agios Ioannou of the Municipal Unit of Ierapetra of the Municipality of Ierapetra, of the Regional Unit of Lassithi, of the Region of Crete, to deal with the emergency needs for the management of the consequences of forest fires.
