The Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, launched an attack against Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the Turkish president’s recent remarks in which he likened Netanyahu to Hitler.

Sa’ar wrote on X that Erdoğan has no right to lecture others while illegally occupying the northern part of Cyprus and speaking about international law.

“He who invaded northern Syria and illegally occupies northern Cyprus, claims to speak in the name of morality and international law. A bit of self-awareness would be useful.”

Earlier, Erdoğan, in a conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, about developments in the Middle East and the Israel-Iran conflict, said that Benjamin Netanyahu is the “greatest threat to the region’s security.”

Among other things, the Turkish president told the Qatari leader that the Israel-Iran clash “cannot overshadow the humanitarian crisis and the genocide in Gaza.”
