Weather: Temperature at 19 degrees today – It will rise further in the Holy Week

Near -6 °C minimum temperature yesterday morning - The EMY forecast until Tuesday

Spring weather will be warm in the coming days, with meteorologists predicting temperatures will exceed 25 degrees Celsius in Holy Week.

With very good temperatures, around 2-5 degrees Celsius above normal levels, the days will pass the Holy Week and with winds up to moderate in most areas around the country, according to Thodoris Kolydas.

“Very reliable and precipitation data through Holy Thursday. Let’s wait for the next runs , because the weather is always changeable this time of year,” the meteorologist said in a post.

As the meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafyllias says, from Wednesday onwards the thermometers will exceed 25-26 degrees in several areas and even in combination with the wind field (downwinds) it is not excluded to approach 30 degrees Celsius!

Nearly -6 °C minimum temperature yesterday morning

The minimum temperature approached -6 °C on Thursday morning 10/04. According to the meteo.gr/National Observatory of Athens network of automatic weather stations, the minimum was recorded in Vlasti, Kozani (-5.8 °C), followed by Grevena (-3.9 °C) and Livadi Parnassos (-3.9 °C).

The relevant table shows the 8 stations of the network that recorded the lowest temperatures on Thursday morning 10/04.

Today’s weather

Initially cloudy skies are expected in patches. Sporadic, occasional rainfall will occur on the East Aegean islands, in Crete and possibly in Evia until midday. Visibility until the morning and towards the end of the day will be locally limited on the mainland.

The temperature in Western Macedonia will range from 1 to 14 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 1 to 17, in Thessaly from 6 to 20, in Epirus from 2 to 19, in Sterea and Peloponnese from 5 to 19, in the Ionian islands from 7 to 17, in the North and East Aegean islands from 6 to 13, in the Cyclades and the Dodecanese from 10 to 15, and in Crete from 10 to 19 degrees Celsius.

Winds in the Aegean Sea will initially blow from the north 4 to 6 Beaufort but will gradually shift to southwest 3 to 5 Beaufort by the evening. An exception is the Dodecanese where winds will continue to blow from the north at 4 to 6 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea the winds will blow from the northwest 3 to 5 Beaufort, but in the afternoon and afternoon in the northern parts of the Ionian Sea will reach 6 Beaufort.

Local clouds are expected in Attica from time to time. Winds will initially blow from the north from 2 to 4 Beaufort but from the afternoon will shift to south winds up to 3 Beaufort. The temperature in the center of Athens will range from 11 to 17 degrees Celsius.

In the prefecture of Thessaloniki, local clouds are expected from time to time. The winds will initially blow from northwestern directions from 3 to 4 Beaufort but after the afternoon they will become variable up to 3 Beaufort. The temperature in the center of Thessaloniki will range from 9 to 17 degrees Celsius.

The weather on Saturday (12/04)

In the Ionian Islands, the weather will be almost clear. In the rest of the country a few clouds, locally increasing from the beginning of the day in the north and gradually, mainly in the midday and afternoon hours, in the remaining areas with local showers and possibly in the East Aegean islands and the Dodecanese isolated thunderstorms of short duration. A little snow will fall in the central and northern mountains.

Winds in the west and south will blow northwest at 4 to 6 Beaufort. In the east and north, winds will initially blow west southwest at 4 to 6 Beaufort and from midday north northeast at the same intensity.

The temperature will rise throughout the country and will reach 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in the northern mainland, the East Aegean islands and the Dodecanese and 19 to 20 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country.

The weather on Sunday (13/04)

In the eastern mainland, Euboea, Crete, partly in the morning hours in the Dodecanese and after noon in the Peloponnese, partly cloudy with local rain of short duration. In the rest of the country, generally clear weather with sparse clouds in the west. Visibility will be locally limited in the evening hours in the west and the northern mainland.

Winds in the west will be east 3 to 5 Beaufort, and from midday south up to 4 Beaufort. In the east it will blow north at 4 to 5 Beaufort and occasionally until noon in the southern Aegean Sea at 6 to 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will not change significantly.

The weather on Monday (14/04)

General clear weather with scattered clouds in the Ionian Sea and the mainland. Visibility will be locally limited mainly in the west and north in the morning and evening hours.

Winds will blow south at 3 to 4 Beaufort and only in the Dodecanese – eastern Cyclades and eastern Crete area will blow north northwest at 4 to 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise slightly.

General clear weather with scattered clouds becoming thicker from midday on the mainland and occasionally in the Ionian Sea. Visibility will be locally limited in the west and north in the morning hours.

Winds will blow in the west southeast at 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the east north northeast at 3 to 5 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise slightly further.
