Five other UN workers injured in Gaza – UN peacekeeper wounded in Lebanon after landmine explosion in the south

A foreign United Nations worker was killed, and five others were seriously injured today in an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza, according to the health ministry of the Hamas-run government in the Palestinian enclave.

The ministry reported one fatality and five severe injuries among foreign UN workers after the Israeli military bombed the central offices of the organization in the area.

The announcement, posted on Telegram, stated that the wounded were taken to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, where one of the victims succumbed to their injuries.

Agence France-Presse noted that it could not independently verify the information from the UN at this time.

UN Peacekeeper Injured in Lebanon

Meanwhile, Lebanon’s state news agency reported that a UN peacekeeper was injured when a landmine exploded in the country’s south.

The National News Agency provided no further details regarding the blast, which occurred between the villages of Zibqin and Yater, near the Israeli border.

Andrea Tenenti, spokesperson for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), confirmed that the peacekeeper was wounded during an operational activity and was transferred to a hospital in Beirut for surgery.
