Tomorrow, the new contribution refund of 1.6 million euros to professionals

In this seventh payment, the highest refundable amount, which will be credited to the bank accounts of 663 beneficiaries, amounts to 11,024.99 euros

Newsroom February 26 02:46

Tomorrow, Thursday, February 27, the seventh payment of 1,651,125.47 euros will be made, concerning the refund of overpaid contributions for supplementary insurance and welfare for the years 2019 and 2020 to thousands of professionals.

Specifically, this applies to lawyers with private-sector or N.P.I.D. (non-profit private-law entities) contracts, as well as salaried engineers and healthcare workers from both the private and public sectors with private-law employment contracts (I.D.A.X. & I.D.O.X.), whether or not they are debtors to e-E.F.K.A., who submitted applications via the corresponding electronic service by February 20, 2025.

It should be noted that, following the 63/2024 Opinion of the State Legal Council (N.S.K.), this process of returning overpaid contributions is now handled without requiring a tax clearance certificate from the beneficiary.

For e-E.F.K.A. debtors, the amount is paid out after offsetting their total debt (whether settled or not) with the initially calculated refundable amount of overpaid contributions (Article 104, paragraph 1 of law 4387/2016 – Government Gazette 85 A’, as amended, and Article 1 of Ministerial Decision no. Δ.15/Δ’/90598/11.11.2021 – Government Gazette 5404 B’).

The competent services of e-E.F.K.A. continue processing applications submitted from February 21, 2025, onwards, so that the eligible amounts can be refunded to applicants in the same manner during the next payment.

Finally, it is announced that the “Electronic Service for Modifying Insurance for Salaried Lawyers, Engineers, and Healthcare Workers” (https://www.efka.gov.gr/el/elektronikes-yperesies/elektronike-yperesia-tropopoieses-tes-asphalises-gia-emmisthoys-dikegoroys-misthotoys-mechanikoys) will be available to interested employers until October 31, 2025 (the deadline).
