The float parade in Patras canceled due to forecasted bad weather

The scheduled Float Parade, which was set to take place tomorrow, Thursday, February 27, at 19:00 in the center of Patra, has been canceled due to adverse weather conditions, according to meteorologists’ forecasts.

Specifically, as reported by the website pelop.gr, the organizers assessed the weather developments and ultimately decided to cancel the parade.

It should be noted that the Float Parade, which traditionally takes place on the last Friday of Carnival, had been rescheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, due to the two-year anniversary of the Tempi train disaster.

Forecast for Friday, 28-02-2025

In the north and the Aegean, cloudy skies with rain, and mainly in the eastern Aegean islands, western and southern Crete, and the Dodecanese, scattered thunderstorms. These phenomena, which may be strong until midday in the eastern Aegean, Crete, and the Dodecanese, will gradually weaken. In the rest of the country, there will be few clouds, temporarily increased, with local showers mainly in the midday and afternoon hours.

Visibility will be locally limited in the mainland during the morning and evening hours.

Winds in the west will initially be variable and weak, gradually turning northwesterly in the Ionian at 3 to 4 Beaufort. In the east, winds will initially blow from southerly directions at 4 to 5, locally 6 Beaufort, but will soon shift to northerly directions at 3 to 4 Beaufort in the north and gradually in the rest of the regions.

Temperature changes will be insignificant. It will reach 15 to 17 degrees Celsius across most of the country, and in some southern mainland areas, it may climb to 18 degrees.

Forecast for Saturday, 01-03-2025

In central and eastern Macedonia, Thrace, Thessaly, and the northeastern Aegean islands, clouds will be temporarily increased with local showers. In the rest of the country, there will be a few clouds, at times increased, with a chance of light local showers in the midday and afternoon hours.

Visibility will be locally limited in the mainland during the morning and evening hours.

Winds in the west will initially be northwesterly at 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually shifting to southerly directions at the same intensity. In the east, winds will blow from northern directions at 3 to 4 Beaufort.

Temperatures will see a slight rise in the south.

Forecast for Sunday, 02-03-2025

Scattered clouds, temporarily denser initially in the northern and eastern mainland and gradually in other areas, with local showers expected in Macedonia, Thessaly, eastern Central Greece, Evia, and eastern Peloponnese.

Visibility will be locally limited in the mainland during the morning and evening hours.

Winds in the west will blow from the southeast at 3 to 4 Beaufort, locally reaching 5 in the Ionian, gradually turning eastward at 3 to 5 Beaufort, and in the south, up to 6 Beaufort. In the east, winds will be northerly to northeasterly at 3 to 4 Beaufort, locally reaching 6 in the northern Aegean.

Temperature changes will be insignificant.

Forecast for Clean Monday, 03-03-2025

In the eastern, central, and northern mainland, as well as in Crete, increased cloudiness with local showers is expected. In the rest of the regions, there will be clouds, temporarily denser, with a chance of brief local showers.
