More than 23,500 tremors between Santorini and Amorgos since 26 January – Seismicity shows a gradual decline

Over 23,500 earthquakes have been recorded since the onset of seismic activity in the Santorini-Amorgos region from January 26 to February 22, 2025, according to the Interdisciplinary Committee for Risk and Crisis Management of the ECPA.

At the same time, as highlighted, seismicity continues to show a gradual decline, both in terms of the daily number of earthquakes and maximum magnitude. It continues to occur in the same focal area, mainly southwest of Anydros, with no new microseismic upsurge observed since February 15.
