GPO poll: New Democracy recovers for the second month, PASOK falls, 10.1 points difference

SYRIZA rises by half a point, but is 5th party, while Kasselakis' party falls

GPO’s poll presented on the main Star newscast shows a 10.1-point lead for the South-Western party over PASOK in the voting intention.

New Democracy was measured at 26.7%, SYRIZA 6.4%, PASOK 16.6%, Hellenic Solution 7.9%, KKE 8.1%, NIKI 2.4%, Plefsi Eleftherias 3.8%, Voice of Reason 4.9%, MPA25 1.5%, New Left 2.1%, and the Movement for Democracy of Stefanos Kasselakis 3.1%. Note that these are voting intention percentages (without reductions). Compared to the previous count, ND is up 0.7 points and PASOK is down 0.4 points.

In the popularity of political leaders, Dimitris Koutsoubas leads the polls with positive opinions of him reaching 41.4%. He is followed by Mitsotakis with 39.6%. N. Androulakis is third with 35.4%. Fourth is S. Famellos with 34.6% and fifth is Z. Konstantopoulou with 34.3%. They are followed by A. Haritsis with 26.7%, K. Velopoulos with 23%, St. Kasselakis with 22.4%, A. Latinoopoulou with 22.2%, D. Natsios with 13.2% and V. Stigas with 8,3%.

Asked if the centre-left parties can, if they cooperate, win over ND, 54.4% answered no and probably not, while 42.4% answered yes and probably yes.

The government-opposition evaluation

Sharp public dissatisfaction is recorded on punctuality, security and health care. There is greater acceptance for foreign policy.
The work of the government is positively evaluated in foreign policy by 45.5%. On the economy by 31%. In health by 27.5%, in punctuality by 23.1% and in the security of citizens by 21.8%.

73.1% of respondents evaluate the opposition tactics of PASOK negatively and rather negatively, while 24.1% evaluate them positively and rather positively.

In the question “who do you consider more suitable of those who have been proposed for the position of President of the Republic”, Kostas Tasoulas scores 31.6%. “None” is answered by 26.5%, Louka Katseli scores 21.8% and Tasos Giannitsis 14.4%.

The Trump presidency

For the Trump presidency in the US, 48.2% believe it will have a negative and rather negative impact on Greek interests, while 41.3% believe it will have a positive and rather positive impact. Moreover, 76.6% believe that Trump’s election will boost right-wing political parties in Greece and Europe, while 14.9% have an opposite opinion.
