"Don't stop us, stop the jihadists", shouted the students who took the initiative for the Christmas tree, but the police sided with the jihadists

This year’s Christmas tree decorating ceremony at the faculty of engineering at Davutpasa University in Turkey was eventful as a group of students attempted to block the process.

According to Turkish media, a group of students gathered in front of the tree symbolizing solidarity, chanted Muslim prayers and tried to block the ceremony.

The other group of students who wanted to go ahead with the decoration reacted by shouting “don’t stop us, stop the jihadists.”

Turkish media reported that no permission had been given to decorate the tree and that university security men also moved against the students who wanted the ceremony to go ahead.
