Weather changes from Thursday – Areas will be affected by strong phenomena

The temperature will gradually drop & winds will not exceed 6 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea

The week is expected to start with limited volatility, according to the director of the National Weather Service, Thodoris Kolydas.

However, as he explains in a post on Twitter, areas of mainland Greece will be affected by more intense phenomena over the three-day period Thursday-Saturday.

Temperature will gradually drop and winds will not exceed 6 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea.

MONDAY
Generally clear weather with light clouds in places which will become thicker in the afternoon – evening hours on the mainland and in the Ionian Sea, with local rain and isolated thunderstorms in the west, central and northern mainland, mainly in the mountains.
Winds will blow in the west variable 3 to 4 Beaufort, in the east from northerly directions 3 to 5 and in the Aegean Sea 4 to 6 Beaufort with gradual weakening from the evening.
The temperature will drop slightly, mainly in the east. It will reach 34 to 35 and locally 36 degrees Celsius in the mainland, 33 to 34 degrees Celsius in the Ionian Sea, 29 to 30 degrees Celsius in the rest of the island country and 33 degrees Celsius locally in the Dodecanese and southern Crete.

TUESDAY
In the midday and afternoon hours there will be some clouds in the mainland and the Ionian Sea and local rain and possibly isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains.
Winds will be variable in the west, 3 to 4 Beaufort. In the east it will blow from the north 3 to 5 and in the Aegean Sea locally up to 6 Beaufort.
The temperature will reach 31 to 34 degrees Celsius in the northern mainland, 33 to 36 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and 30 to 33 degrees Celsius in the island country.

WEDNESDAY
Generally clear weather. In the midday and afternoon hours, there will be some clouds, mainly in the western and northern mainland, and local rain in the mountains.
Winds will be variable in the west at 3 Beaufort. In the east, winds will blow from northerly directions 3 to 5 and in the eastern Aegean Sea locally 6 Beaufort.
The temperature will not change significantly. It will reach 32 to 35 degrees Celsius in the northern mainland, 35 to 37 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and 31 to 34 degrees Celsius on the islands.

THURSDAY
Initially clear weather, gradually in the midday and afternoon hours on the mainland and the Ionian Sea clouds will develop and local rain and occasional thunderstorms will occur. In the evening the weather will improve.
Winds will blow west northwest 3 to 5 and locally in the Dodecanese 6 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly.

FRIDAY
A few clouds that will gradually increase in the mainland and the Sporades and mainly in the midday and afternoon hours there will be local rain and occasional thunderstorms. In the evening the weather will improve.
The winds will blow north-northwest 3 to 5 and locally in the eastern Aegean 6 Beaufort.
The temperature will not change significantly.
