Law enforcement is close to concluding its investigation into Matthew Perry‘s death from ketamine, believing that multiple individuals should face charges. The ultimate decision on pressing charges rests with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which has yet to comment. Perry, famous for his role in Friends, died on October 28, 2023, at 54. His death was ruled accidental, with an autopsy revealing the acute effects of ketamine as the primary cause, along with factors such as drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine, a medication for opioid use disorder.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner closed its investigation in December, but the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) initiated a separate probe into the overdose circumstances. By May, the LAPD revealed its collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and U.S. postal inspectors to trace the source of the ketamine that caused Perry’s death. This investigation aims to identify and hold accountable those involved in supplying the drug.

As the investigation nears its end, the focus remains on ensuring justice for Perry, with law enforcement seeking to charge all relevant parties appropriately. The decision from the U.S. Attorney’s Office will determine the next steps in this high-profile case.
