Prorata Poll: ND at 25.5%, SYRIZA at 13%, PASOK at 11%

The poll company sees a rise of right-wing parties mainly attributing it to the law on marriage equality & LGBTQ adoption rights

Newsroom April 16 03:38

According to the Prorata poll presented on the main news bulletin of Attica TV (voter intention with turnout, meaning without abstention), New Democracy leads with 25.5%, the second party is SYRIZA with 13%, PASOK – KINAL ranks third with 11%, while Greek Solution ranks fourth with 8.5%, followed by KKE with 8%, and Course of Freedom with 4%. New Left is recorded at 3.5%, Niki at 3%, and MeRA25 at 2%, while Democrats, Voice of Reason, and Spartans gather 1.5% each. KOSMOS by Petros Kokkalis is recorded at 1%.

Compared to the previous Prorata survey for Attica TV (January 2024), ND shows a decrease of 4.5 percentage points, SYRIZA shows an increase of 2.5 percentage points, and PASOK shows a decline of 2 percentage points. There is also a decrease for KKE (from 9% to 8%), while Greek Solution shows a significant increase (from 5% to 8.5%). There are upward trends for the Movement of Freedom (4% from 2.5%) and for New Left (3.5% from 3%).

According to the survey, the most significant role in the electoral preference of those who shifted from June 2023 until today to a party on the right of New Democracy was played by “the party’s departure from its traditional positions” (60%), while the developments that influenced these voters the most were: the passing of the law for same-sex couples (51%), the increase in crime (34%), the handling of the Tempi case (31%), and high prices (24%).

Regarding the question of what voters who identify with the center-right intend to vote for, the dominance of Kyriakos Mitsotakis is undisputed (ND 54%, Greek Solution 14%). However, the picture changes when those who identify with the Right and Far Right are asked, where ND is pressured by Greek Solution (31% versus 30%), while 8% goes to Victory, 7% to Voice of Reason, and 3% to Spartans. The overall perception of the respondents is that the parties to the right of ND will experience an increase in the European elections (58%), while only 22% believe they will remain at the same levels.
