John Kerry: Greece’s record is incredible – Thank you for your leadership

The former US Secretary of State, speaking at the 9th "Our Ocean Conference," congratulated the Greek Prime Minister for his initiatives of protecting the marine ecosystems

Credits to the Greek government for its initiatives towards environmental efforts, particularly in the production of “green” – clean – energy, as well as the exemplary organisation of the 9th “Our Ocean Conference,” John Kerry, former U.S. Secretary of State, presidential candidate, and longtime influential senator praised the government during his speech at the international conference.

“You have achieved an incredible record in energy production solely from renewable sources for a long period last summer,” he emphasised. John Kerry is one of the most influential figures in the global environmental sector.He addressed Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, whom he also congratulated for the initiatives of the protection of marine ecosystems.

“Thank you for your leadership and for the impeccable organisation of the 9th international conference for the Ocean, the impact of which, as highlighted by the Greek Prime Minister, is undeniably impressive: 400 commitments were undertaken, totaling 10 billion dollars.” Kerry noted.

Within the framework of the 9th “Our Ocean Conference,” expressed were the 2,500 initiatives that have been taken, with a total value of 138 billion dollars worldwide mentioned the former US  Secretary of State. He also underlined that 47% of the new protected areas on the planet are a result of the conference.
