Iranian drones expected to arrive in Israel at 02:00 – We are ready, says Netanyahu

Efforts to shoot down the drones before they reach Israel - Israel's airspace closed - Airspace in neighbouring countries are now closed

Newsroom April 14 12:50

War drums are ringing in the Middle East, with Iran’s attack having started to take place against Israel after the Revolutionary Guards seized the Israeli ship.

Tehran has launched attacks with dozens perhaps hundreds of drones which are expected to arrive in Israel at 02:00.

The Revolutionary Guards then announced that they have launched dozens of drones and missiles against Israel. According to reports, drones have even been launched from Yemen.

At the same time, in a statement the White House has said it has been informed of the attack.

The Israeli army has confirmed, for its part, that drones are heading towards Israel, stating that the IDF is in a state of full readiness. The Iranian media notes, however, that this is a massive attack against Israel.

US and allied fighter jets will reportedly try to neutralise the Iranian drones before they reach Israel.

Israel’s Channel 12 TV network reported that dozens of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) took off from Iran and are heading towards targets in Israel.

Retired General Amos Yadlin told Channel 12 TV that the drones are each carrying 20 kilograms of explosives and that Israel’s anti-aircraft defenses are ready to shoot them down.
