ND urges Greek expats to register and vote for the May 21 national elections

How to register

Newsroom April 7 05:07

Ruling New Democracy (ND) urged Greek expatriates to register and vote in the upcoming elections, explaining that their registration on the apodimoi.gov.gr platform should be done by Monday. “Thousands of Greeks abroad have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote and more than 20,000 have already applied to participate from their place of residence,” the announcement states.

The only serious condition is that they have lived, from 1988 to the present, for 2 years in Greece. The second is that they have submitted a tax return in Greece this year or last year, the statement explains, adding that they can still submit an overdue tax return today, without paying a fine.

The deadline for them to be able to exercise their right to vote on May 21 by registering on the apodimoi.gov.gr platform – if, for example, the Presidential Decree is issued on April 22 – is Monday, April 10, 2023, at 23:59 Greek time. For information or assistance regarding the applications you can send an e-mail with your contact information including your phone number to diaspora@nd.gr and the Greek Diaspora Secretariat of the New Democracy will contact you from today until the end of the upcoming elections confrontations.
