“US ready to attack Turkey via Greece”, Turkish analyst makes outrageous claim on CNN Turk

He said that Turkey would not fall into the trap

Newsroom August 29 10:27

Speaking to the CNN Turk network, a Turkish expert on security and terrorism called Coskun Basbug, “predicted” a military attack by US forces against Turkey, via the base in Greece at the port of Alexandroupolis.

His outrageous claims against Greece and the USA were made during his analysis on CNN Turk about the rising tensions between Greece and Turkey.

Speaking on the CNN Turk network, and not on some fringe television station, Basbug went so far as to defiantly claim that the US is using Greece to hit Turkey militarily.

“Here America is preparing to attack Turkey, there is an attack plan, there is a behind-the-scenes plan for an invasion attempt. That is why we talked a lot about Alexandroupolis and focused on it. Because in the event that Turkey carries out a military operation, the first direction of approach from land is this area that we are discussing,” said the Turkish expert, having in front of him the map with the American presence on Greek soil.

He characterised the USA and Greece as states that have been present for 200 years, adding that Turkey “is not going to fall into their trap”.

“The founding dates of these states are one in 1771 and the other in 1821. In other words, they are both 200-year-old states. If these states were smart here, they would know that Turkey sees this trap and is not going to fall into it,” said Basbug, who previously claimed that the US: “Are preparing Mitsotakis for the role of Zelensky.”
