The Hellenic Navy released a video of frigate “ELLI” during its rescue operations at Mati on Wednesday. The footage shows people who fled the flames in the sea waiting to board the ship.
On Wednesday, “Elli” was replaced by “Themistocles” frigate, which continues to coordinate operations in the wider region as the search for missing persons continue.
It is estimated that about 700 people were rescued by boats during the fires.
