Maximou: The prime minister’s trip to Cuba cost 22,900 Euros

According to Ta Nea, the trip cost a minimum of $ 300,000!

Newsroom December 1 04:38

According to the Greek government’s non paper, the fuel for the prime minister’s recent trip to Cuba to attend the funeral of the late Cuban leader Fidel Castro cost 16,700 euros, and the accommodations for his entourage cost another 6,200 euros, for a grand total of 22,900 euros.
On the very same topic, journalist Yiorgos Papachristos wrote in his Ta Nea column: “How much the little four-day trip to Havana cost taxpayers I can answer myself (based on information I was given last night by a friend of mine who is a pilot — and I won’t hear otherwise, because he actually flies such an aircraft himself): every flight hour of the specific plane, the famous Gulfstream, costs around $ 15,000, which can be broken down into fuel, insurance, airport fees and overflight fees. Which means that just the 10 hours it took to go to Havana and the 10 to come back cost $ 300,000.”

The columnist also pointed out that “at 1/100th of the cost, he [Tsipras] could have traveled business class through Madrid or Paris.”
