Thousands of pensioners march towards parliament (photos-videos)

They burn Ministry letters in protest

Newsroom November 3 12:53

The scheduled protest of pensioners in front of the Ministry of Labour is underway, with thousands of elderly citizens voicing their anger against the law that slashed their supplementary pensions, which took effect on November 1. Their demonstration started outside Kotzia square in Athens, before moving to Stadiou Avenue, in front of the Labour Ministry, where they set the letters sent to them by the authorities informing them on the cuts, on fire. Holding banners and placards and chantings “Liers you have finishes us”, they are marching towards the Greek parliament and the Maximos Hall, where PM Alexis Tsipras resides. “They are mocking us with letters”, accusing Labour Minister Katrougalos of destroying social security and the pensions.
