A quick, easy to prepare appetizer, ideal for Sunday dinner or as an everyday snack.

Ingredients

2 stale baguettes
1 tsp. fresh oregano
150g. Kefalotyri (Or any hard salty cheese)
200g. salted butter, at room temperature
1-2 cloves of garlic, crushed

Preparation method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 200 ºC. Using a knife, slice the baguettes diagonally into slices about two fingers thick without reaching the bottom. Cut each baguette in half.

Step 2

Mix the softened butter with the crushed garlic and oregano. Using a teaspoon take small quantities and lightly coat the baguettes where you sliced them.

Step 3

Sprinkle the gaps with a little grated cheese and close the openings of the baguette. Every time you finish a piece, wrap it in foil. Continue until all your materials. At this point you can store your “packages” in the freezer or bake them.

Step 4

You bake the garlic bread in the oven for 20 minutes.
